Triathlons are typically races that include three segments, running, cycling and swimming. The distance to be covered in each segment varies and depends on the discretion of the organizers. Winners are decided by the total time they take to complete all three segments. Along the routes, certain transition points are set up where participants can change into the appropriate clothing and collect the gear they need to compete in the next segment of the race. Though, in recent times, specialized clothing is being developed that is suitable for all segments with minor variations.

When you ride your bicycle you are transferring energy from your feet to the pedals and that energy propels your bike forward. That’s why buying the correct footwear to
use for riding is an important decision and there are many factors you need to keep in mind while shopping.
Remember, your shoes must fit well and feel like they’re an extension of your foot. The shoes you buy for walking or running need extra room in the toes to allow for the rolling motion of your foot. Not so with cycling shoes. Also make sure they grip your heel and the middle part of your foot firmly once they are fastened on.

There are tons of cycling jersey designs out there,
some that you love to look you wouldn't be caught dead in. Jersey designers need to remember that the jerseys they come up
at and others with are going to be remembered for a long time and bad designs linger in public memory forever. We totally get that pro jerseys need to combine the colors and logos of their sponsors but colors that blend well together and smartly placed logos do enhance the appearance of the jersey.

Thinking of taking up cycling? Great!!! So, now that you have your brand new bike and some smart new gear from www.shiftcyclewear.com you’re ready to get started. But before you get out there, here are a few facts to keep in mind.
Keep your eyes on the road up ahead, and that’s where your bike will head. Keep your eyes on the curb you’re trying to avoid and chances are that’s where you’ll end up. Especially when you’re negotiating turns. When you’re pushing your pedals, think of a circular motion with your feet. If you’re stomping down on them, that really isn't going to give you a smooth ride. And while on the subject of pedals, let’s talk about the clipless pedals you should use. The practicality behind this idea is that your foot won’t be sliding off the pedals and you can push more easily. And that also means you’ll tire less easily.
