Shift Cycle Wear's new 2014 Katie Ride for Life Men's Jersey

Posted by Shift Cycle Wear on 6/24/2014
The Katie Ride for Life is an event that was first organized in 2005 to create awareness about the importance of organ donations and how they can save lives. The response the event received from the community made it a resounding success. Since then, every year the event generates media attention for this noble cause and is conducted by the Katie Caples Foundation. The event includes support for cyclists over rides of 18 miles, 36 miles, 62 miles, 100 miles and also has an off-road option. From 2009 onward, a 10 kilometer walk has also been added for other participants who would like to support the cause.

The funds raised with this event assists the Foundation’s program that is directed at educating people about organ donation. The Foundation was established in honor of 17 year-old Katie Caples. Driving home on 18th April, 1998 from Jacksonville, Katie was involved in a terrible accident and succumbed to her injuries. But before her death, she donated her organs and this brave decision resulted in 5 recipients getting a new lease at life. This heroic story has inspired many other people to make the same decision and donate their organs after their death.

At Shift Cycle Wear, we are proud to be associated with the Katie Caples Foundation and prouder still that we have been assigned the privileged task of creating the official men’s jersey for the 2014 event. These jerseys are made with a polyester/spandex blend fabric that allows ventilation and lets you move without restriction. It also wicks away sweat from your body and dries efficiently and instantly. Added to that is the excellent UV protection it provides that makes it ideal for outdoor activities.

We invite you to visit us at Shift Cycle Wear and pick out your Katie Ride for Life Jersey today!! And show your support for organ donation and the gift of life you can give with every pedal stroke!!
