Shift Cycle Wear—Bike to Work Day

Posted by Shift Cycle Wear on 5/17/2013

At Shift Cycle Wear, we would like to show our support for the Bike to Work Day.

Bike to Work Day is an event observed nationwide on the third Friday of May. This year it happened to fall on May 17th. This event is all about using bicycles as commuting choices. All over the USA, organizations and businesses showed their support for Bike to Work day in different ways. Restaurants offered breakfast; and free snacks and coffee to cyclists, the southern California commuter rail network, Metrolink provided cyclists free train rides, and bicycle shops offered free balaclavas and cycle tune-ups. Some organizations even gave away free bikes.

Cycling to work is a great way to keep fit and is even better for the environment. Think of all the pollution we would be avoiding if more of us cycled to and from work as opposed to driving around every day. If you’re thinking--“Hey! I use public transport.” Let us tell you that almost all forms of public transport also use fossil fuels. So take the bike to work. It’s good for you and the environment.

Drop in on us at www.shiftcyclewear.com and pick out some great jerseys and other cycle wear. They combine comfort and style and a great way to show off your support for the environment.
